John Riel Casimero is an active professional boxer from the Philippines. He is a three-division World Champion, having held titles at Light Flyweight, Flyweight, and Bantamweight.

John Riel Reponte Casimero was born on February 13, 1989, in Merida, Leyte, Philippines. The Filipino fighter is only 157 cm tall but possesses a significantly longer wingspan of 178 cm.

He has competed in multiple weight classes from Light Flyweight to Super Featherweight. He fights from an orthodox position and is known as "Quadro Alas," which is Tagalog for "Four Aces."

Career

Casimero began his professional campaign in June 2007. He won his first world title in 2012, stopping Luis Alberto Lazarte in Argentina for the IBF Interim Junior Flyweight Title in a fight that ended in a ring riot. He was later elevated to full champion.

He became a two-division champion in 2016 in a rivalry with Amnat Ruenroeng, winning the IBF Flyweight title via a fourth-round knockout.

In November 2019, he became a three-division champion by scoring a major upset TKO victory over Zolani Tete to win the WBO Bantamweight Title. He defended this title in a high-profile, low-action rivalry against Guillermo Rigondeaux, winning a split decision.

He was stripped of his WBO title in 2022 for failing to make weight. His most recent fight was a draw against Yukinori Oguni in 2023, which ended due to an accidental headbutt.
