Career
Barrios began his professional campaign in November 2013. He won his first 24 professional fights. In September 2019, he defeated Batyr Akhmedov by unanimous decision to win the vacant WBA (Regular) Super Lightweight Title. He defended this title once with a knockout victory over Ryan Karl in 2020.His first professional loss came in a rivalry with Gervonta Davis in June 2021, losing his title via TKO. Following the loss, Barrios moved up to the Welterweight division.
He faced former unified champion Keith Thurman in his Welterweight debut in February 2022 and lost a unanimous decision. He has since rebuilt his career, winning the WBC Interim Welterweight title against Yordenis Ugas in September 2023. In June 2024, Barrios was elevated to full WBC Welterweight Champion.
