Fake

A Fake or "Feint" in basketball is a deceptive move used by an offensive player to throw off a defender and create an opportunity to shoot, pass, or drive to the basket.

The player with the ball uses various parts of their body, such as their head, eyes, and hands, to mislead the defender into thinking they are about to take a specific action.

The main goal of a fake is to make the defender react in a way that gives the offensive player an advantage.

There are different types of fakes, such as the Shot Fake (pretending to shoot), the Pass Fake (pretending to pass), and the Jab Step (faking a quick step in one direction).

A well-executed fake can cause the defender to lose balance, commit to the wrong direction, or leave their feet, giving the offensive player a clear path to score or make a play.
