The Montana Golden Nuggets image:Montana Golden Nuggets team are a former Continental Basketball Association (CBA) which has played their best from 1980-81 to 1982083 season.
This team reached their CBA finals in 1981 and also in 1983. During this period, George Karl, who at present is the head coach of the Denver Nuggets team, got inducted with the coach of the year honors in both the seasons.
George Karl’s team in 1980-81 was however led by players who were exceptionally good in their skills. These were Phil Taylor, John Douglas, Geoff Crompton and Willie Smith, all of whom went for 27-15. The Montana Golden Nuggets team played against the Rochester team, a high scoring team that time during the championship. This time, the Nuggets got swept away with four games to none.
The next season, the club went ahead with 30-16 points and had some of the best players. These players include U.S Reed, Ronnie Valentine, Terry Stotts and such players. However, this team lost in the finals to their rival team, the Billings Volcanoes.
In 1983 season, the team returned as it was their last match. At the match, they lost again to the Detroit team in the finals with 4 games to 3. Late 2006 saw the return of CBA again in the form of a professional team namely, the Great Falls Explorers.
