Juwan Howard is a former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. Some of the teams he played for in the NBA include the Miami Heat and the Washington Wizards. He is a two-time NBA Champion. As of the 2022-2023 season, he is the coach for the University of Michigan’s women’s basketball team.

Juwan Antonio Howard was born on February 7, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois in the United States of America. He stands 206 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 113 kg. He played Power Forward and he shoots right-handed.

For most of his NBA career, he mostly resided in NBA. He is the father of six kids from four different women. In 2002, he married Jenine Wardally. They have two sons and both of them play college basketball.

High School and College Career

He attended the Chicago Vocational High School in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. While there, he received McDonald’s and Parade All-American honors.

In 1991, he started playing for the University of Michigan. In 1994, he was named to the Second-team All-American NABC and the Third-Team All-American AP.

Professional Career

Howard turned pro in 1994 when he was drafted by the Washington Wizards in the first round. He was the 5th overall pick of that year’s draft. He played with the Wizards from 1994 to 2001. In 1995, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. In 1996, he was named an NBA All-Star.

In 2001, Howard signed with the Dallas Mavericks and play with them for a season before signing with the Denver Nuggets and playing with them from 2002 to 2003. For the 2003-2004 season, he played for the Orlando Magic.

From 2004 to 2010, he played for several NBA teams including the Houston Rockets, Charlotte Bobcats, and the Portland Trail Blazers. In 2010, he signed with the Miami Heat and while he was with them, they won the 2012 and 2013 NBA Championships.

From 2013 to 2019, he was part of the coaching team of the Heat. He left in 2019 when he was offered a coaching job at the University of Michigan. He coaches their women’s basketball team.
