High School and College Career

Batton attended Delaware County High School in Springfield, Pennsylvania, where he earned Third-team Parade All-American honors in 1974. He then played college basketball at Notre Dame University from 1974 to 1978.

Professional Career

After being selected by the New Jersey Nets in the 1978 NBA Draft, Batton began his professional career in Italy with Gabetti Cantù, where he won the FIBA Saporta Cup in 1979 and was named the Finals Top Scorer.

He continued playing in Italy with Antonini Siena (1980-1981) before joining the NBA.

He made his NBA debut with the Washington Bullets on October 30, 1982, and concluded his career with the San Antonio Spurs in 1983.
