Jerome Allen is an American former professional basketball player and coach who played in the National Basketball Association and various European leagues. He played for 3 teams in the NBA, Minnesota Timberwolves, Indiana Pacers, and Denver Nuggets. He was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year before embarking on an international career where he won Italian Supercup MVP honors. He, currently, is an Assistant Coach of the Detroit Pistons.

Professional Career

Allen's professional career began in 1995 when he was selected 49th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA Draft. He spent his first NBA season with the Timberwolves, followed by stints with the Indiana Pacers and Denver Nuggets in 1996-1997.

After his NBA career, Allen embarked on an extensive European journey, starting with CSP Limoges in France (1997-1999). He then played for Ülkerspor in Turkey before finding success in Italy with Virtus Roma, where he won Italian Supercup MVP in 2000.

His European career continued with stops at Tau Cerámica in Spain, multiple stints with Snaidero Cucine Udine in Italy, Napoli, PAOK Thessaloniki in Greece, and Veroli Basket.

Following his playing career, Allen transitioned to coaching, beginning with Snaidero Cucine Udine in 2009. He then became the Head Coach at the University of Pennsylvania (2009-2015) before moving to the NBA as an Assistant Coach with the Boston Celtics (2015-2021).

He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons, a position he has held since 2024.
