Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is a professional Cameroonian basketball player and plays as a shooting guard. Luc is the son of the elected chief of the Bia Messe village, near Yaounde in Cameroon. Luc is born to Camille Moute a Bidias, the elected chief and a high ranking government official in Cameroon. Luc came to the USA as a child to study and pursue his love for basketball.

Luc played at the Montverde Academy in Florida before graduating and going to UCLA where his team won the Pac-10 championships with Luc leading the team in rebounds in his freshman year. In the NCAA, Luc led his team to the finals of the tournament with, first, a layup that completed a comeback against Gonzaga University, followed by 17 points with 2 steals, an assist and 9 rebounds against Louisiana State University. At the end of the year, 8.9 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game was the average scoring record for the Cameroonian.

In 2008, Moute led his team to the final four for the third consecutive year, while winning the Pac-10 for the third time, again in a row. Luc had an honourable mention in the All Pac-10 and was named to the Pac-10 All-Defensive team while being placed at 5th overall, in scoring. His 775 rebounds have placed him at 15th in the overall history of UCLA.

In 2008, Luc decided to let go off his final year and announced his declaration for the 2008 NBA Draft. The Milwaukee Bucks picked him up at 37th overall and Luc never looked back.
Strong defensive play made Luc a huge fan-favourite and after just nine games into the season, he took Villanueva's place in the starting lineup. In just his second game, Luc hit 19 points with 17 rebounds against the Memphis Grizzlies. By the end of 2008, Luc was averaging almost 10.5 points with 7.2 rebounds and is one of the best rookies out on court this year.

At the international level, Luc has played for the Cameroonian national team and won the Silver Medal at the 2007 FIBA African Championships.
