Michael Paul Beasley Jr. is an American basketball player who is not playing for Cangrejeros de Santurce as a power forward and small forward. Beasley was raised in Cheverly, Maryland with her parents and 4 siblings. Growing up, he grew interested in basketball and he played for the PG Jaguars when he was young. At that time, PG Jaguars was known to be one of the country’s finest Amateur Athletic Union youth teams.
Pre-professional Career
When he was in high school, he played with Kevin Durant and Chris Braswell, and together, they won national championships for the PG Jaguars. He also attended 6 high schools and played with them. When he was in Bowie High School, he recorded an average of 30 points with 10 rebounds per game. His last stop in high school was in Notre Dame Preparatory School, where he averaged 28 points with 4.5 blocks and 4 assists per game.
Beasley was one of the strongest players when he entered college in Kansas State, as he recorded 26.2 points with 12.4 rebounds per game. Among the freshmen in NCAA, Beasley managed to rank second in NCAA, which led him to pay more for the university. Because of his early success in his college days, he was awarded All-America honors from the Associated Press. He was also hailed National Freshman of the Year and was included as a first-team Freshman All-American by numerous sporting outlets.

NBA Career
Beasley decided to join the 2008 NBA Draft, where he ranked second and was selected by the Miami Heat. Miami Heat made him join the NBA Summer League right after he signed a contract with them. On his debut, he earned 28 points with 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Everything seemed to be going alright to him when one of his teammates hit him accidentally in the chest, and Miami Heat decided to only let him play in the non-contact play.
After spending 2 years with the Heat, he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves so that he could clear his salary-cap space. In 2010, he led the Timberwolves to win against the Sacramento Kings. He also recorded 42 points with 9 rebounds.
Other teams that Beasley was involved in were Phoenix Suns, Shanghai Sharks, and Houston Rockets.
Marijuana Controversy and Other Off-Court Scandals
Although Beasley is considered a very skillful and talented player, he was involved in numerous scandals, such as joining Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur’s marijuana controversy. At 2 am, the fire alarm rang, and when the police checked Chalmers and Arthur’s room, it smelled like marijuana, where Beasley was also present. In 2014, someone filed against him for sexual assault, however, the complainant wasn’t able to pursue the case because there was not enough evidence to support her claim. By the following months, Beasley got suspended in 5 games for the anti-drug policy he violated.
