High School and College Career
He attended Mitchell High School in Mitchell, South Dakota. In 1998, he was named a McDonald’s All-American and was also named to the Second-team Parade All-American.
Miller committed to play college basketball for the University of Florida and was there from 1998 to 2000.
Professional Career
In 2000, he joined the NBA and was selected in the 1st round of the draft. He was the 5th overall pick by the Orlando Magic. He played with the Magic from 2000 to 2003. In his first year, he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year and the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
From 2003-2008, he played for the Memphis Grizzlies. While with the Grizzlies, he was named the 2006 NBA Sixth Man of the Year. From 2008 to 2009, he was with the Minnesota Timberwolves. From 2009 to 2010, he played for the Washington Wizards.
From 2010 to 2013, he played for the Miami Heat. In that time, he helped the Heat win two NBA Championships. After the Heat, he returned to the Grizzlies for a season. Then from 2014 to 2015, he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers. From 2015 to 2017, he played for the Denver Nuggets. He retired in 2017.
In 2018, he started as the assistant coach for the Grizzlies. In 2020, he started coaching for Houston High School.
