Mike Brown

Mike Brown is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association and various European leagues before transitioning into coaching. Teams in the NBA he has played for are the Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bulls.

Brown attended Clifford J. Scott High School in East Orange, New Jersey.

He then played college basketball at George Washington University from 1981 to 1985, where he earned the nickname "The New Washington Monument" - due to his height and presence in the nation's capital.

Professional Career

Brown was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the third round of the 1985 NBA Draft. But, he began his professional career in Italy with Aurora Desio (1985-1986) before joining the Bulls (1986-1988).

His longest NBA stint came with the Utah Jazz (1988-1993), followed by two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves (1993-1995).

He then alternated between NBA and European teams: Teamsystem Bologna (1995), Philadelphia 76ers (1995-1996), Viola Reggio Calabria (1996-1997), Phoenix Suns (1997), another stint with Reggio (1997-1998), and a return to the Suns (1998).

He concluded his playing career in Spain with Cantabria Lobos (1998), Manresa (2000), and Ourense (2000-2001).

After retiring as a player, Brown transitioned into coaching, serving as an assistant coach for the Las Vegas Slam (2001-2002), Roanoke Dazzle (2002-2004), and Chicago Bulls (2007-2008).

He also served as head coach of the Fayetteville Patriots (2004-2006).
