James Turner Brewer is an American former professional basketball player who played nine seasons in the National Basketball Association for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Lakers, and three seasons in Italy.
In 1982, he became an NBA Champion while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. The following year, he also became a EuroLeague Champion.

High School and College Career
Brewer attended Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois, where he led his team to their first state championship in 1969.He then played college basketball at the University of Minnesota from 1970 to 1973, where his No. 52 jersey was later retired. One of his college teammates was future Baseball Hall-of-Famer Dave Winfield.
Professional Career
Selected second overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1973 NBA Draft, Brewer spent six seasons with the team. He later played for the Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Lakers, where he won an NBA championship in 1982.After his NBA career, he played in Italy for Ford/Jollycolombani Cantù, winning a EuroLeague Championship in 1983.
