After the end of the recent Celtics-Cavaliers game in Cleveland, Celtics coach Doc Rivers walked out of the locker room to address the media in Quicken Loans Arena. With his attractive, happy and honest looks he is a media favorite throughout the country. He stood against one wall of the narrow and long hallway and then smiled and said that his team lost the previous match when he had stood against this wall. So, he walked to the other side of the hall and stood against the other wall.Rivers> The reporters laughed at his superstition. One can view portraits of former Cavalier greats like Brad Daugherty, Campy Russell and Mark Price in the hallway. Rivers glanced at these paintings and asked aloud why the portrait of Jim Brewer is not on this wall. He reiterated his question for emphasis. The reason why Rivers made this question is that few people aged less than 40 know about Jim Brewer. However, Rivers made it clear that he knows him, he appreciates Brewer’s game and Brewer was one of the greats in the history of Cavalier.

Jim Brewer was a forward with a height of 6 feet 9 inches. In 1973, he was drafted by the Cavaliers out of Minnesota as the 2nd overall pick. From 1973 to 1979, he played 463 games in Cleveland and had an average of 7.7 rebounds and 7.5 points per game. He is most remembered as a part of the “Miracle of Richfield” team in 1975-76 season that turned over Washington and almost defeated Boston in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Jim Brewer>
