High School and College Career
Felton attended Latta High School in Latta, South Carolina, where he was a standout player.He led his high school to two state championships. During this time, he set state scoring records with 2,992 points and earned numerous accolades, including Naismith Prep Player of the Year (2002), First-team Parade All-American (2002), and South Carolina Mr. Basketball (2002).
He then played college basketball at the University of North Carolina from 2002 to 2005 under head coach Roy Williams.
In his junior year, Felton led the Tar Heels to the 2005 NCAA Championship, earning the Bob Cousy Award as the nation's top point guard.
He was also named a Third-team All-American by the Associated Press and First-team All-ACC in 2005. The University of North Carolina honored his jersey number 2.
Professional Career
Selected 5th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats in the 2005 NBA Draft, Felton began his professional career with the Bobcats. He then earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors in 2006.Felton spent his first five seasons with Charlotte before joining the New York Knicks in 2010.
Throughout his 14-year NBA career, Felton played for seven different teams, including two stints with the Knicks. He also played for the Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Clippers, and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
