Mike Bloom

Mike Bloom used to play in the position of Forward-Center. He had a height of 6 feet 6 inches and weight of 190 lbs. In 1948 he played for Baltimore Bullets using jersey no. 28. In the same year he also played for Boston Celtics using jersey no. 10. In 1949 when he was a member of Minneapolis Lakers, he was given jersey no. 11. In the same year, he also played for Chicago Stags and was offered jersey no. 11 and 13.

Bloom was a student of Trenton High School in Trenton, New Jersey. Later he sought admission in Temple University. Bloom accumulated 508 points in the 1947-48 season which is the maximum number of points amassed by him in a single season. Along with these he also made 38 assists and 116 personal fouls. His field goal percentage was 0.272 and free throw percentage was 0.699.

Career Highlights

Bloom played in the BAA (Basketball Association of America) for two seasons – 1947-48 and 1948-49. Overall he could participate in 93 games in which he collected 634 points and 70 assists. He also made 169 personal fouls. He made 821 field goal attempts out of which 209 were field goals resulting in a field goal percentage of 0.255. There were 303 free throw attempts out of which there were 216 free throws and the corresponding free throw percentage was 0.713.
