Kristopher James Murray was born on August 19, 2000, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in the United States of America. He stands 203 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 99 kg. He is a left-handed Small Forward. He was named after the late basketball player Chris Street.

His father Kenyon Murray played college basketball and his brother Keegan Murray also plays in the NBA, for the Sacramento Kings.

High School and College Career

He attended Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa then he transferred to DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida. He committed to play college basketball for the University of Iowa and was there from 2020 to 2023.

In 2023, Murray was named to the Third-team All-American – AP, USBWA, SN, and the First-team All-Big Ten.

Professional Career

Murray turned pro in 2023. He was selected in the 1st round, 23rd overall, of the 2023 NBA Draft, picked by the Portland Trail Blazers.

He signed a two-way contract with Portland in 2023, which also allowed him to play for the Rip City Thunder in the NBA G League.
