After undergoing successful surgery on his left knee, Jamal Murray remains out indefinitely, and there’s no timetable yet for the set of his return, as Denver Nuggets announced last Wednesday. The procedure was done in Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute and performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
Murray suffered the injury during the Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors’ game last April 12, where Murray attacked the basket. However, when he tried to lift his left leg, he fell awkwardly to the court and looked to be in serious pain.
Even though this unfortunate incident and medical assistance were called to assist him, he refused to take a wheelchair and soon, being assisted off the court, limped.
Losing Jamal Murray in the last minute of the game made a significant blow on Denver’s performance, which ended them losing the match against the Warriors. With Murray’s temporary leave on the team, the Nuggets attempted to acquire Aaron Gordon and JaVale McGee. The Nuggets is now expecting Michael Porter Jr. to have a breakout season, while Will Baron to step up the game and work harder for the loss of Murray’s presence in the team.
According to Harrison Wind, the Nugget’s spokesperson and reporter, the swelling on Murray’s left knee had gone down, and the doctor was pretty much impressed with Jamal’s knee condition after the surgery.
Currently, Murray holds the average record of 21.2 points and 4.8 assists, making him the team’s second-leading scorer after Nikola Jokic.
