Jeff Malone is a former professional basketball player and coach. He played in the National Basketball Association and Greece. Later, he coached in the International Basketball League, NBA G League, and the NBA Development League. During his NBA career, he was named an NBA All-Star twice. He played for the Washington Bullets, Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers and the Miami Heat.

Jeffrey Nigel Malone was born on June 28, 1961, in Mobile, Alabama in the United States of America. He stands 193 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 93 kg. He has four kids and one grandson. His aunt is Vivian Malone Jones. Despite sharing a last name, he is not related to Karl Malone or Moses Malone.

High School and College Career

He attended Southwest Magnet High School in Macon, Georgia. He late went on to attend Mississippi State University from 1979 to 1983. While there, he was named the 1983 SEC Player of the Year – UPI 1983. He was also named to the Third-team All-American – NABC in the same year.

Professional Career

Malone joined the NBA in 1983. He was selected in the first round of the draft as 10th overall by the then-Washington Bullets. In his first year with the NBA, he was named to the 1984 NBA All-Rookie First Team. In 1986 and 1987, he was named an NBA All-Star.

In 1990, he moved to play for the Utah Jazz. Later, he played for a couple of seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. In 1996, he signed with the Miami Heat. In 1997, he played for VAO in Greece.

He began his coaching career in 2000, he coached the San Diego Stingrays in the International Basketball League. He also coached for the Austin Spears and from 2005 to 2006, he coached the Florida Flame.
