Jalen McDaniels is a professional basketball player from the United States of America. He was drafted into the National Basketball Association by the Charlotte Hornets in 2019. As of 2024, he plays for the Toronto Raptors.

Jalen Marquis McDaniels was born on January 31, 1998, in Seattle, Washington in the United States of America. He stands 206 cm tall and his weight is listed at 93 kg. McDaniels is a right-handed Small Forward.

McDaniels has an older brother, Jaden McDaniels, who also plays in the NBA for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is also a cousin of former NBA player Juwan Howard.

High School and College Career

McDaniels attended Federal Way High School in Federal Way, Washington, where he also played football.

McDaniels played two seasons of college basketball for San Diego State University from 2017 to 2019. In 2019, he was named to the Second-team All-Mountain West.

Professional Career

McDaniels was selected with the 52nd overall pick in the 2nd round of the 2019 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets. He split his rookie season between the Hornets and their NBA G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm.

In his second season in 2020-21, McDaniels became a regular part of Charlotte's rotation.

In February 2023, McDaniels was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. He appeared in 8 games for the 76ers before being traded again to the Toronto Raptors just before the deadline.

As of 2024, McDaniels remains with the Raptors.
