Jeremy Juliusz Sochan was born on May 20, 2003, in Guymon, Oklahoma to a Polish mother, Aneta, and an American father, Ryan Williams. Sochan holds dual citizenship with Poland and the United States.

He began playing basketball at a young age in England, first with the Milton Keynes Trojans before moving to Southampton to play for the Solent Kestrels youth team and Itchen College.

Sochan started his high school career at La Lumiere School in Indiana but left for Germany due to the COVID-19 pandemic, playing for OrangeAcademy in the ProB league in 2020-21.

He committed to Baylor University in 2020 and played one season of college basketball for the Bears in 2021-22. As a freshman, he was named Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year and he also received All-Freshman honors.

Professional Career

The San Antonio Spurs selected Sochan with the 9th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Known for his defensive versatility and toughness, Sochan has drawn comparisons to players like Dennis Rodman and Draymond Green for his ability to guard multiple positions and disrupt opposing offenses.
