Jaden Ivey

Jaden Ivey is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He plays for the Detroit Pistons and in 2023, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. Prior to the NBA, he played college basketball for Purdue University.

Jaden Edward Dhananjay Ivey was born on February 13, 2002, in South Bend, Indiana in the United States of America. He stands 193 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 88 kg. He shoots right-handed and he plays the position of shooting guard.

His mother is Niele Ivey, the head basketball coach of the women’s team at the University of Notre Dame. She also used to play in the WNBA. His father Javin Hunter played in the National Football League. So did his grandfather James Hunter.

High School and College Career

He attended Marian High School in Mishawaka, Indiana. Later, he transferred to the La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana before he played college basketball for Purdue University and was there from 2020 to 2022.

While there, he was named to the 2021 Big Ten All-Freshman Team, and in 2022, he was named to the First-team All-Big Ten and the Consensus Second-team All-American.

Professional Career

Ivey was a first-round draft during the 2022 NBA Draft, selected by the Detroit Pistons. In his first year with the team, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

In addition to the NBA, he also plays for the United States internationally and was part of the 2021 FIBA Under-19 World Cup team.

As of early 2024, he still plays for the Pistons.
