Kayla Renae McBride is an American professional basketball player of the WNBA Minnesota Lynx and Turkish Super League’s Fenerbahçe. McBride was drafted by San Antonio Stars as the 3rd overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft. She was Notre Dame’s shooting guard.

Career

McBride was drafted by San Antonio Stars in the 2014 WNBA Draft. She started all the 34-star games for Stars in her beginner season, which lead Stars in scoring and averaging 13.0 ppg.

She moved to Las Vegas Nevada in 2018 which was eventually renamed Las Vegas Aces. In March of the same year, she re-signed to a multi-year deal with the Aces. 2018 was the best season for her basketball career so far. She scored a new career-high of 38 points in the 97 to 91 loss to Dallas Wings.

The Aces had a more improved season in 2019 and finished with a 21 to 13 record. In 2019, McBride was voted to WNBA All-Star Game. The season in 2020 was delayed and shortened to only 22 games because of the pandemic. McBride played and also started in 22 games. Aces successfully finished 18-4 with the top seed getting the double-bye to the semi-finals.
