He started playing basketball at a young age. Nicknamed, ‘Slow Mo’, Anderson’s parents are Suzanne and Kyle Sr. He is the grandson of former National Football League player Clifton Anderson.
High School and College Career
He attended St. Anthony High School. For college, he committed to play for the University of California Los Angeles. He stayed there from 2012 to 2014.
While in college, he was named the Pac-12 Tournament MVP. He was also named to the First-Team All-Pac-12.
Professional Career
In April 2014, he declared for the NBA. He was selected by the San Antonio Spurs during the 2014 NBA Draft. He was signed by the Spurs in July 2014. He made his debut during the 2014 season.
While a rookie, he was also assigned to the Austin Spurs – the Spurs’ NBA G League affiliate team. He was later called back to play for the main team. By the 2017-2018 season, he became a restricted free agent and signed with the Memphis Grizzlies.
He underwent surgery before the 2019-2020 season. He recovered from the surgery and came back to full capacity. In 2022, he signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He plays for Minnesota as of the 2024 season.
