By the time he was a senior, he received a number of scholarship offers from a number of universities including the University of Wisconsin-Madison, DePaul University, Oregon State University, and Arizona State University. He committed to play for the University of Kentucky.He played for Kentucky from 2018 to 2019.
Professional Career
He declared for the NBA in 2019, choosing to forgo his remaining years of college eligibility. He was the 13th overall pick in the first round, chosen by the Miami Heat. The team signed him in July of that year.In his rookie season, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. In Game 2 of the NBA Finals in 2020, he became the youngest player in the NBA to start in a finals game. In 2022, he was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
