Dennis Schröder is a German professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association in the United States of America.
He used to play in Germany for the Basketball Bundesliga. In 2013, he was drafted into the NBA by the Atlanta Hawks. He has since also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and the Boston Celtics.
He also played for the Toronto Raptors. As of 2024, he plays for the Brooklyn Nets.

He started focusing on his basketball career in 2009 after his father died. His mother is Gambian and his dad is German. He is Muslim.
Professional Career
He started his professional career in 2010 when he started playing for the SG Braunschweig, which was a farm team for the Phantoms Braunschweig. He later moved to play for the Phantoms.
In the 2012 and 2013 seasons, he was named the Most Improved Player and the Best Young German Player of that year.
In 2013, he played in the Nike Hoop Summit. In the same year, he declared to play for the 2013 NBA Draft. He was drafted into the NBA in 2013. He was chosen in the first round and he was the 17th overall pick in the draft, selected by the Atlanta Hawks.
Early in his career with the Hawks, he was assigned to play for the Bakersfield Jam, in the NBA G League.
In 2018, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Before he was traded away, he was the runner-up for the Sixth Man of the Year. In November 2020, the Thunder traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers.
He stayed with the Lakers for a season before they traded him to the Boston Celtics.
He was traded again in 2022, this time to the Houston Rockets. As of March, he was ruled out for the rest of the season because of a shoulder injury. He later moved to the Lakers.
In July 2023, he moved to the Toronto Raptors as a free agent. In 2024, he signed with the Brooklyn Nets.
When the Nets were eliminated from the Playoffs in 2024, he played for FC Germania Bleckenstedt in the German Landesliga Braunschweig.
