Kemba Walker is a professional basketball player from New York in the United States. He plays in the National Basketball Association and as of April 2022, he plays for the New York Knicks. Before that, he played for the Boston Celtics. He was drafted into the NBA by the Charlotte Hornets. Prior to playing professionally, he also represented the United States in the FIBA Americas U-18 Championship in 2008 in Formosa. He has been named an NBA All-Star four times.

Career
He attended Rice High School where his above-average scoring got him into the McDonald’s All-American Team. He was also asked to join the New York Gauchos AAU basketball program and earned the top spot in the nation. In college, he became famous across the country and appeared on the Sports Illustrated cover. He helped the University of Connecticut win the NCAA Men’s Division 1 Basketball Championship and became the MVP.
On December 2011, he signed with the Charlotte Bobcats and became their starting point guard. He went on to become a more accomplished shooter in the following seasons and began to hit game-winning and buzzer-beating shots.
The team was renamed Charlotte Hornets in the 2014 to 2015 Season and continued to hit game-winning points and scored a career-high 42 points. Upon returning from an injury, Walker made 39 points in a win over the Sacramento Kings. He also helped the team finish as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference during the regular season.
During the 2016 to 2017 Season, he reached a career milestone of 7,000 points and became the fourth player in the history of the Hornets to do so. Walker also became the third player in the history of the Hornets to make 2,586 field goals. Later in the season, he became the second player to reach 8,000 points in team history.
In the 2017 to 2018 Season, he became the only player to reach 200 careers 20-point games in the history of the Hornets. Walker also reached 900 career three-pointers.
He joined the Boston Celtics in 2019. He signed a sign and trade deal with the team in July. It was for four years and worth a reported US$141 million. He debuted with the Celtics in October 2019. In the 2021 playoffs, he missed a few games because of a bone bruise.
The Celtics traded him to the New York Knicks in 2021. Knee problems caused him to miss some games in 2022. In February of the year, the Knicks announced that Walker would be sidelined for the rest of the year.
In 2022, Walker was traded to the Detroit Pistons as part of an NBA Draft move by the Knicks.
