Early Life and High School Career
Growing up in a sports-oriented family, with an older sister and three brothers, Janel honed her skills at Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH). Her high school career was nothing short of remarkable, as she led her team to a 59-11 record in her last three years. During her senior year, she averaged 19.4 points per game and propelled her team to a runner-up finish in the 2001 Wisconsin Division I State Tournament.
