Al Jefferson, the Center of Minnesota Timberwolves, was told by Jeff Schwartz that Jefferson was not selected for the Western Conference All Star team.

Al Jefferson, the Center of Minnesota Timberwolves, was told by Jeff Schwartz that Jefferson was not selected for the Western Conference All Star team. The West’s coaches did not vote in favor of Jefferson in spite of the fact that Jefferson was one of the 3 players in the NBA to have an average of 10 rebounds and 20 points. Jefferson revealed that he had a sort of feeling that such a thing would take place. He was disappointed on hearing this news, but he overcame it quickly and thought it was time to move on. Points in Jefferson’s favor

The Timberwolves also hoped that Jefferson would get selected in the All Star team. Prior to Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, he was the leader in the team with 22.7 points and 10.5 rebounds. In the league, he was ranked 8th in scoring and a topper among Centers as well as 7th amongst rebounds. These records are better than other Centers who would play on 15th February in Phoenix. The Timberwolves had a record of 16-28, which would not be of much use to Jefferson. However, in 2009 the team had won 10 out of their first 13 games.

The coaches in the Western Conference chose Shaquille O’Neal who had an average of 18.1 points and 9 rebounds. This decision did not astonish the listeners as O’Neal has been one of the most famous and best players in the league for more than the past ten years. Additionally, the All Star game is planned to be played on O’Neal’s home court.
