In an interview with ESPN right after the Golden State Warriors won over the Sacramento Kings, Green explained how he believes Curry had leapfrogged both Michael Jordan and LeBron James as the greatest player of all time.
He spoke of Curry’s confidence saying: “It’s way different.”
“But I think one of the most unique things about Steph is like – we all argue like, ‘Oh, is [Michael] Jordan the GOAT? Does LeBron [James] dethrone him? Whoever your guy is, who [do] you think is the GOAT. Everyone debates it.”
“There’s no debate. [Steph] is the greatest. So that confidence runs different. But I think we all here in this world know, there’s no debate. He’s the greatest – and that’s a special thing.”
This comes as somewhat of a surprise since last December, Green ranked Curry fourth in his list of top NBA players, coming in behind Jordan, James, and Kobe Bryant and just one spot ahead of Shaquille O’Neal.
But given the way that Curry has been playing for the Warriors recently, Green’s change of heart is understandable.
Curry is also already the greatest shooter in the history of the league. He is also a great point guard.
That’s why it makes sense why Green considers his teammate as the GOAT.
