Brooklyn Nets Still on the Lookout for a Worthy Kevin Durant Trade

Brooklyn Nets Still on the Lookout for a Worthy Kevin Durant Trade

The Brooklyn Nets are still trying to find a trade for Kevin Durant but as his market is slow to materialize, they may end up just retaining him.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN said, “The Nets are still trying to find a deal for Kevin Durant.”

“I think if Kevin Durant came to Brooklyn and said ‘Hey, I’ve changed my mind, I want to be here and I’m committed to this.’ Of course, they would want them to stay. But if Kevin Durant is not doing that, you’re still trying to trade him.

You want players who want to be there. You don’t want the environment to be filled with players who are unhappy and don’t want to be a part of it. They have to get value for him. They have to get significant value for him.

One of the teams that are potentially vying for Durant is the Miami Heat, but the Nets seem unimpressed by their offer. Reports have said that the Heat are willing to include Bam Adebayo in a potential Durant deal.

A scout told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, If you’re the Heat, you make that trade, even if you need to include [Ben] Simmons.”

“If you have an opportunity to get a player like Kevin Durant, you do it. From my relationship with Pat Riley, I believe the Heat would make that trade [including Adebayo] if given the option. I’m not sure that would be enough for Brooklyn.”

The Phoenix Suns had a good start at the offering for Durant but they soon dropped off after they were asked to match Deandre Ayton’s offer sheet signed with the Indiana Pacers.

Now, it is getting likelier and likelier that the Nets will enter training camp with both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant on board.
