Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to a $122-million extension to his contract that will see the six-time All-Star play for them through to the 2026-2027 season.
The Olympic gold medalist is set to make $59 million in the 2025-2026 season and $63 million in the next. He is set to make $137 million before the extension even begins.
Lillard has spent all ten of his NBA season with the Trail Blazers. A core injury last season had limited him to just playing 29 games, although frustrating, the limitation is said to help him in the long run.
“My body is stronger than it was before in certain areas,” Lillard said.
Lillard will turn 32 this month and he also said that the mental break the time off offered was also very helpful.
The six-time All-Star has averaged 24.6 in his career. He was selected as one of the leagues Top 75 players for the 75th anniversary celebration last year.
