China national baseball is controlled by the Chinese Baseball Association and is a member of the BFA. The team is currently ranked 14th in the IBAF world baseball rankings.
Asian Baseball Championship & Intercontinental Cup
China have regularly competed in the Asian Baseball Championship since 1985, having finished 4th in 2003 and 3rd in 2005. China’s 11th finish in the Intercontinental Cup in 2002 is their only in the tournament.
Olympics
In the 2008 Summer Olympics, China were automatically qualified being the host nation. It was China’s first ever Olympic appearance in baseball.
World Baseball Classic
In the inaugural WBC in 2006, China competed and finished 15th, while they also competed in the 2009 World Baseball Classic where they won by 4-1 win over Chinese Taipei, however lost to Japan and South Korea ahead in the tournament and were thus eliminated.
Baseball World Cup
China competed in the World Cup trice in 1998, 2003 and 2005 finishing 12th, 11th, and 10th respectively.
