Chinese Taipei baseball team represents the Republic of China in regional and international competitions. Governed by the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association, the team is ranked 5th in the world by the IFBA.

The team includes players at amateur as well as professional level from Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League, Japan's Central League and Pacific League, and North American major (MLB) and minor leagues.

Chinese Taipei has been competing in several regional as well as international tournaments throughout the years-

Regional games

Chinese Taipei has won the Asian Baseball Championship 4 times, while coming second 6 times and 10 times in the third place. The team has also performed successfully in the Asian Games, their best result coming in 2006 when they won the gold.

Intercontinental Cup

Chinese Taipei has won two bronze medals in the Intercontinental Cup, one in 1983 in Belgium and another one in 2006 in Taiwan.

Olympics

In 1992, Chinese Taipei reached the finals but failed to impress against Cuba and were defeated, however they won a silver medal, their best result in the Olympics. In the next installations, the team finished 5th in both 2004 and 2008.

Baseball World Cup

Chinese Taipei has never before participated in the Baseball World Cup. Its first appearance will come in 2009 in Europe when the team will compete against Czech Republic, Mexico and Australia in Group A.

World Baseball Classic

In the 2006 WBC Chinese Taipei failed to advance to the second round, while in the 2009 WBC they again played in Pool A against the same teams and lost again, finishing in 14th place.
