USA national baseball team
USA has been selecting teams of professional-level minor league players since 1999 to represent the nation in international competitions like World Baseball Classic, Olympic Games and World Cup, the 2000 U.S. Olympic Baseball Team being the first team. Under manager Tommy Lasorda and led by Ben Sheets, USA defeated Cuba to win the gold medal.
