Foot Fault

A Foot Fault in tennis happens when a player's foot touches the wrong area while serving.

The server must stay behind the baseline until hitting the ball. They also can't touch the center mark or its imaginary extension. A foot fault counts as a fault, just like hitting the net. Line judges watch closely for foot faults during matches.

Serena Williams had a famous foot fault call in the 2009 US Open semifinals.
