Grand Prix Hassan II

The Grand Prix Hassan II is a men's professional tennis tournament held annually in Marrakech, Morocco. It's part of the ATP Tour 250 series, a lower-tier level of tournaments on the ATP Tour.

History

The tournament began in 1984 in Casablanca. It was initially part of the Challenger Series, a level below the ATP Tour. In 1990, it became part of the ATP Tour.

In 2016, the tournament moved to Marrakech.

Royal Connection

The Grand Prix Hassan II is sometimes called the "Royal Tour".

This is because it was funded by King Mohammed VI of Morocco. One Moroccan player, Hicham Arazi, has won the tournament.

Recent Events

The tournament was canceled in 2020 and rescheduled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pablo Andujar has won the Grand Prix Hassan II three times (in 2011, 2012, and 2018), which is the most singles titles in the tournament's history.
