Santiago Giraldo is a male professional tennis player who plays on the ATP Tour. Giraldo was born on November 27, 1987 in Pereira, Columbia, but he currently resides in Bogota. Standing at 6 ft and 2 inches tall, Giraldo has been representing Colombia to the Davis Cup for a number of years already, since he turned pro in 2006.

Although Giraldo has been playing well since he turned pro, he has steadily competed in smaller events all over Bogota, Buenos Aires, and Asuncion. However, a year later, he did manage to reach the French Open of the said year, where he reached his very first Grand Slam main draw, but was defeated by Novak Djokovic.

In March 2008, Giraldo participated in his very first major non-Grand Slam tournament, which was the Masters Series Pacific Life Open. Although Giraldo lost in the event, he still went out in style after going head to head against Rafael Nadal, then No. 2 seed. Soon after the said tournament, Giraldo participated in the 2008 Sony Ericsson Open, but lost in the first round. He did, however, get to join the French Open of the said year, after an opportunity opened when Richard Gasquet withdrew from the match.

Although Giraldo is steadily climbing the charts, he has gone far with his record of 28-42 matches, ranking as high as No. 54 in June 2010. For doubles, however, Giraldo has not done much in the said division. For his Grand Slam results, Giraldo has appeared in two Grand Slam events, but has not won any title so far.
