Jacco Eltingh
Jacco Folkert Eltingh used to be a male professional tennis player who reached the World No. 1 spot in doubles at a certain point during his professional career. He was born on August 29, 1970, in Heerde, The Netherlands, and he is best remembered for the great seasons he enjoyed with Paul Haarhuis, a fellow countryman.
Eltingh turned pro in 1988, and he plays right-handed. Most of Eltingh’s career is marked with highlights during the seasons where he played with Paul Haarhuis. Together with Haarhuis, they performed well and won all of the four Grand Slam doubles at least once during their career.
Although Eltingh did a great job playing doubles with Haarhuis, he also did well as a singles player. In fact, he was able to rise up to No. 19 in the World Ranks on February 6, 1995. To top off his career, Eltingh was chosen via vote to be a part of the ATP Board as a representative player for Europe.
Through his career, Eltingh had enjoyed great success especially when it came to his career in doubles. For singles, however, he had a record of 127-147, and won four career titles. In doubles, he enjoyed a record of 391-144 with 44 career titles, achieving the highest rank of World No. 1 in January 16, 1995. Among these wins, Eltingh and his partner won the Australian Open 2 times, the French Open 2 times, the Wimbledon once, and the U.S. Open once. All of the Grand Slam championships total 6 titles that have been deemed as very impressive for most players.
