Mathieu Montcourt
Mathieu Montcourt was a professional tennis player who was born on March 4, 1985 in Paris, France. He started playing professional tennis in 2002 at the age of 17. He is currently coached by Jerome Prigent. And most of his competitions were frequently at the Futures tournament.
After he turned pro, he competed at the Italy Futures by April 2004 but was defeated by Guillermo Carry from Argentina in the semifinals. In 2004, he participated at the Kish Island tournament in Iran, however lost the title to Tomas Behrend from Germany in the final round. In that same year, he made it in the finals at the Poland Futures but lost to Filip Urban of Poland. However, he won the Italy Futures tournament, defeating Andrey Golubev of Russia.
In the following year, 2005, he competed at the French Futures by April but he was not able to take the title from Evgeny Korolev from Russia. However, six month after, in October, he won the France Futures over Tobias Clemens of Germany. In 2006, he competed this time at the Cordenons Futures in Italy, but Konstantinos Economidis of Greece took home the title.
He competed in several non-Futures tournament, one of which was at the 2007 and 2008 Australian Open. He then competed at the 2007 Durban Tournament in South Africa and defeated Rik De Voest in the finals.
In July 2009, Montcourt was found dead by his girlfriend in his apartment in France. The primary autopsy declared that the cause of death was cardiac arrest. Further test are still being made, no confirmed result has come out since.
