Andreas Vinciguerra or “Vinci” as called by his countrymen is a Swedish professional golfer who was born on February 19, 1981 in Malmö, Sweden. His parents are Giuseppe, a pizza baker, and his mother, Gunilla, a school teacher. He has two older sisters, Ulrica and Jessica, who loves playing soccer and hockey aside from tennis.

Before his professional years in tennis, he first competed in the juniors division. He won the European Junior Championship title and made it to the final of the Junior Australian Open in 1998. After which, he turned professional at the age of 17 in that same year.

As a professional, he participated at the Wimbledon tournament in June 2000 but was defeated by Tommy Haas from Germany. By October of the same year, he competed in the Bastad Tournament in Sweden but was defeated by fellow Swedish, Magus Norman in the final round.

In July 2001, he competed in the ATP Masters Series Rome but lost the title to Gustavo Kuerten from Brazil. In that same year, he competed again at the Wimbledon but was defeated by Younes El Aynaoui from Morocco. And in October, he competed in another ATP Masters, this time in Paris and lost to Yevgeny Kafelnikov from Russia in the finals.

Vinciguerra made a comeback in 2006 after recovering from his back injury. By 2009, he participated at the World Team Championship in May. And by July, went on and competed at the Bastad tournament in Sweden but was defeated by Robin Soderling at the semifinals.
