Wesley Moodie is a former professional tennis player from South Africa, best known for winning the Wimbledon Men's Doubles Championship in 2005.

A serve-and-volley specialist, he became the first qualifier to win the Wimbledon doubles title and achieved a career-high doubles ranking of World No. 8.

Moodie is married to his wife, Marcia, who is a teacher. They have a daughter, Danica Jade, born in November 2006, and two sons, Jason, born in February 2011, and Kristian, born in June 2015.

Early Life and College Career

Moodie began playing tennis at an early age and won the South African Junior Masters tournament in February 1996. He went on to play college tennis in the United States from January 1997 to May 2000, first for Auburn University at Montgomery and then for Boise State University.

He turned professional in June 2000.

Professional Career

Moodie's professional career, which spanned from 2000 to 2011, was highlighted by his doubles success. He was a serve-and-volley specialist whose 196 cm height gave him a powerful serve.

His most significant achievement came at Wimbledon in 2005, where he and his partner, Stephen Huss, became the first qualifiers to win the men's doubles championship. In 2009, he reached the doubles final of the French Open and achieved his career-high doubles ranking of World No. 8.

His best Grand Slam doubles results also include reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open in 2008 and the quarterfinals of the US Open in 2009 and 2010.

In singles, Moodie's best performance was winning his first top-flight tour singles event at the Japan Open in 2005. He reached the third round of Wimbledon in 2003 and the third round of the US Open in 2006.

Wesley Moodie officially retired from professional tennis in July 2011.
