William Hamilton or better known as Willoughby Hamilton (born as James Willoughby “Willoby” Hamilton), is a professional tennis player who was born on December 9, 1864 in Monastervin. It was in 1889, when he also took his victory on the North England and Irish Championships. There, he was able to take his break and has defeated yet another tennis master, William Renshaw, in 5 straight sets, him taking down Renshaw in the 2nd 4th and 5th set, with scores 6-8, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 in the entire match. It was from 1889 up to 1890 when Willoughby Hamilton was also ranked at the top most among the many other tennis enthusiasts and pro’s in the tennis sports industry.
