Arantxa Sánchez Vicario is a former professional tennis player from Spain. She has won four Grand Slam singles titles, three French Open titles, and one US Open title. She also has five doubles Grand Slam titles, three in the Australian Open, two in the US Open, and one in Wimbledon. Sanchez Vicario also has four mixed doubles Grand Slam titles.
In addition to her Grand Slam wins, she also has two silver Olympic medals and two bronze medals. She is also a former World No. 1 in the WTA singles and WTA doubles rankings.

Aránzazu Isabel María “Arantxa” Sánchez Vicario was born on December 18, 1971 in Barcelona, Spain. She stands 169 cm tall, and she played right-handed and had a two-handed backhand. Her brothers Emilio Sánchez and Javier Sánchez also played tennis professionally.
She has been married twice and she has faced multiple charges of fraud and tax evasion.
Career
Sánchez Vicario turned pro in 1985. She played through to 2002.
She won her first Grand Slam title in 1989, it was at the French Open. She had defeated Steffi Graff. In 1991, she was in the finals of the French Open again but she lost to Monica Seles. Seles defeated her again in 1992, this time at the US Open.
Her next Grand Slam win came in 1994, again at the French Open – winning against Mary Pierce. In the same year, she won against Graf at the US Open. Her last Grand Slam singles win was at the French Open in 1998, defeating Seles.
In addition to her singles wins, she also has six Grand Slam doubles wins and Grand Slam mixed doubles wins. Sánchez Vicario also has four Olympic medals, two bronze and two silver.
In total, she has 29 career singles titles, 69 doubles titles, and 4 mixed doubles career titles.
Nicknamed the “Barcelona Bumblebee,” she was a valuable asset to her home country’s Fed Cup team. She played for them for sixteen years in total, being part of the winning team in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1998.
In 2007, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
