Karl Behr
Karl Howell Behr was an American tennis player and banker. He was also a survivor of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. A member of the United States Davis Cup team in 1907, he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1969.

Karl Howell Behr was born on May 30, 1885, in New York City, USA, the son of Herman and Grace Behr. He was the brother of the famous golfer Max H. Behr.He was educated at Lawrenceville School and attended Yale University. In 1913, Behr married Helen Monypeny Newsom, and they had four children.
After giving up his law career, he became a banker and was a vice-president of Dillon, Read & Co.
Professional Career
Behr was a prominent tennis player who played on the United States Davis Cup team in 1907. He and his partner, Beals Wright, were runners-up in the men's doubles at the 1907 Wimbledon Championships.He reached the No. 3 U.S. ranking in both 1907 and 1914. In 1915, he defeated Maurice McLoughlin, who was the World No. 1 ranked player at the time, to win a tournament in Seabright, New Jersey.
