Willmer Allison
Wilmer Allison was an American amateur World No. 4 ranked tennis champion of the 1930s.
He was both a fine singles player and, along with his frequent partner, John Van Ryn, a great doubles player. He won the 1935 U.S. Championship in singles and was also ranked the U.S. No. 1 in 1934 and 1935.

Allison's career as an amateur began in 1927 and he retired in 1941. One of Allison's earliest tournament wins was the 1928 Canadian Championship.He won the singles title at the 1935 U.S. Championship. In doubles, he won Wimbledon in 1929 and 1930, and the US Open in 1931 and 1935. He also won the US Open mixed doubles title in 1930. Allison was ranked World No. 4 in 1935.
