A U.S. Doubles finalist since 1900, 1906, 1911 and 1918, Frederik Beasley Alexander was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1961. He was born on August 14, 1880 and lived in Seabright, New Jersey, United States. He died on March 03, 1969 in Beverly Hills, CA.

Frederik, who was rather lean and lanky, was the first foreigner to hold championship titles under the singles and doubles category won in the 1908 Australian Open. He defeated Alf Dunlop in 1908. But he paired with Dunlop to compete in the doubles later on which they were successful as a duo. He was also a finalist in the in the 1900, 1906, 1911, 1918 U.S. Doubles; a finalist as well in the Mixed Doubles in 1918; a champion under the doubles category together with Harold Hackett in the 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910, and 1919 U.S. Tournament; and a champion in the 1906, 1907, 1908, 1911, 1912, and 1917 U.S. Indoor Doubles. On top of his Grand Slam records, Frederik also earned the championship titles of both the singles and doubles category in 1901 and 1900 respectively. He was a member of the 1908 Davis Cup Team.

In 1908, Frederik and Beals Wright lost the Australian Cup held in Melbourne to Tony Wilding and Norman Brookes. He only had a 6-3 score against Brooke in the fifth and a three matches against Wilding that reached to a decision match. But Frederik, being educated in Princeton and being a New Yorker himself won the singles and doubles U.S. Intercollegiate.

He was consistently among the top ten U.S tennis players from 1904 and 1918 at least six times. His highest so far was in 1908 when he was in number 3. In 1917, when he was 37 years old, he got the chance to lead 19-year-old Harold Throckmorton to win the championship doubles. This was Feredrik’s fifth U.S. Title.
