Career

She began her tennis career in 2014 and she attained success in the junior levels. She made her ITF debut in 2015 and she was named by Tennis Canada as the Outstanding Junior Female of the Year. Andreescu earned her first professional title at the 2016 Gatineau 25K.

Debuting in the professional circuit in 2017, Andreescu also gained Junior Grand Slam championships by winning the Australian Open doubles title and the Rancho Sante Fe 25k singles title. While she was able to enter her first Premier Mandatory championship, she was forced to end her 2019 season early due to an injury.

She made her Grand Slam main draw debut in 2017. A few years later in 2019, she achieved the biggest win of her career when she defeated Serena Williams for the US Open single’s title.

That year, she also won the Indian Wells Open title and the Canadian Open title.

She skipped most of the 2020 season but in 2021, she was a finalist at the Miami Open. In 2022, she made it to the quarterfinals of the Italian Open, and in 2023, she was in the third rounds of the French Open and Wimbledon.
