Heidi El Tabakh is a professional tennis player who was born in Alexandria, Egypt but now residing in Toronto, Canada. El Tabakh had reached a career-high World Number 146 in the WTA singles ranking as of October 2012. From 2002 to 2005, she held Egypt’s banner high, until she decided to represent Canada in further years. El Tabakh is also known as the team captain of Canada’s Fed Cup in 2019.
Professional Life
El Tabakh has been inactive since 2016. Perhaps one of her highlighted games was in 2009 in Valladolid Spain where she won the title. In May 2010, she was able to get through the French Open, however, defeated by Aravane Rezai during the first round.
She ventured into the Jackson Open as a challenger, and successfully won her 2nd $25K event. By the following week, she won again the singles title in Pelham.
Although she participated in the French Open, she suffered a loss to fellow Canadian, Aleksandra Wozniak where she was able to defeat her in the first round.
