Oceane Dodin is a professional tennis player from France and has reached World Number 46 for the Singles as of June 2017. As of January 2022, Dodin was ranked at World Number 91. So far, she recorded one singles title in 2016 Coupe Banque Nationale in Quebec, while winning 12 singles titles on the ITF Circuit.
Early Life
Dodin was born and raised in Lille, France, and she was an only child. During her younger years, she was trained by her father, Frederic Dodin, to improve her tennis skills. Her goal for her career is to be included again in the Top 50, and she is also working hard to become WTA World Number 1. Apart from tennis, she is interested in fashion and often reads fashion magazines.
Professional Debut at the French Open
At the age of 14 years old, Dodin debuted on the ITF Circuit in 2011, where she was qualified for the main draw. Her first achievement as a junior player is to reach the semifinal at a $10K tournament by the following year. In 2013, she also reached another milestone of winning the title at the Les Franqueses del Valles tournament. Because of her impressive performance during her junior days, she was able to be qualified for the French Open. Even though she was considered to be a wildcard and a rookie, still she managed to play against Teliana Pereira.
Grand Slam and WTA Tournament Journey
The first time Dodin joined the Grand Slam is the 2015 Australian Open, where she was qualified for the main draw. She was able to defeat Alison Riske during the first round, however, she barely survived against Karolina Pliskova in the second round. After the Australian Open, she debuted on WTA Tours at the Internationaux de Strasbourg as a lucky loser.
