Jacco Folkert Eltingh is a retired professional tennis player. He is from the Netherlands and is currently residing in Monaco. He was a former World No.1 for Men’s Doubles. His most notable doubles pairing was Paul Haarhuis. Together Eltingh and Haarhuis all four Grand Slam doubles titles, achieving a career Grand Slam.

Born Jacco Folkert Eltingh on August 29, 1970, he is a native of the Netherlands and his hometown is Heerde. At present, he resides in Monaco in Monte Carlo. He stands 188 cm tall and his last listed weight is 98 kg. He plays with his right hand and he has a one-handed backhand. He was coached by Alex Reynders and throughout his career, he accumulated prize money of nearly $5 Million.He started playing tennis when was just 7 years old. As a junior player, he won the doubles category at the 1988 Orange Bowl and the European Under-18. In addition to tennis, he enjoys basketball, fishing, mountain biking, and other active sports. He speaks French, English, Dutch, and German.
Career
Eltingh had a great singles and doubles career. When he reached the quarter-finals of both Wimbledon and the Australian Open in 1995, he shot through the Men’s Singles world ranking and ended up in the No.16 spot in February 1995. Other notable Grand Slam singles performances include a 2R finish at the US Open also in 1995 and again in 1993. He also made it to the 4R of Roland Garros in 1994.He also made it to the quarter-finals of the Men’s Singles of the then Grand Slam Cup. In total, he has 4 tour titles as a singles player. After playing Rosmalen in 1997, he announced his retirement from the singles competition. He would later retire from the sport altogether.
Perhaps his most notable doubles pairing is that of Haarhuis. Together the two won all four of the Grand Slam doubles categories. In 1994, they were voted as the ATP Tour Doubles Team of the Year. Eltingh was crowned World No.1 for doubles on January 16, 1995. This followed a year where he won the Australian Open and the US Open.
In 1995, he won the doubles event at the Roland Garros. He did it again in 1998. He also won the Australian Open twice, once in 1994 and again in 1998.
